A note from a patient…

orchards“The realization that I could feel this clear and balanced all the time just by taking good care of my body…”

I would like to share notes from a patient (with her permission of course) as she integrated information about foods that were causing issues in her body, and learned how her body could feel with the right kind of support. Her words so wonderfully express the experience I hope for patients to have as they rediscover what it is to feel good.

Three days after receiving results from IgG and IgA food panels:

Dear Dr. Doni,

I’ve cut out all of the high reactive foods, which for me, really just meant gluten, yogurt, and some shifts in which nuts, fruits, and vegetables I choose. I know you may think I’m over-stating things so early on, but I ALREADY see a difference. I have long believed I noticed a connection between eating “carbs” and seeing puffiness in my face. I can say now that duh – there MUST be a connection, because after just two days, that puffiness is subsiding. I am optimistic and I feel empowered and excited to know that I’m taking good care of my body. 🙂 So thank you.

One week after receiving results from IgG and IgA food panels:

So far, I notice dramatic differences in my energy level, my digestive comfort, my mental clarity, and my mood since eliminating high-reactive foods and beginning the supplements* you suggested. I’ve also been trying to eat more frequently and to make sure I’m incorporating enough protein into my diet. All of these things have felt stabilizing.

Ten days after receiving adrenal stress results:

I just have to let you know that I have been positively floored by the shift in my mood, my state of mind, and my energy level since I’ve started taking the supplements for my adrenal and nervous systems. As somebody who has been so terrified of taking any supplements, I have to admit that I’m a little bit concerned, truth be told, to realize just how great I feel, seemingly as a direct result of using this capsule-derived support! It helps to know that the longer term plan is to wean off of the supplements as my nutrition and my gut-health improve.

I’ve just come through two years of such acute suffering on every level. As I’ve understood it, my poor emotional and mental health has led me to make choices that have directly damaged my physiological health. This opportunity now to heal my physical body and to find that doing so is having such a dramatically positive impact on my thoughts and feelings, too, is just amazing me. The realization that I could feel this clear and balanced all the time just by taking good care of my body, and that doing so will help to heal my mind, my heart, and my spirit, too, permits me to imagine an experience of peace and of agency that I have never even dreamed was possible.

So thank you 🙂
*Please keep in mind that any and all supplements—nutrients, herbs, enzymes, or other—should be used with caution. My recommendation is that you seek the care of a naturopathic doctor (with a doctorate degree from a federally-accredited program) and that you have a primary care physician or practitioner whom you can contact to help you with individual dosing and protocols. If you ever experience negative symptoms after taking a product, stop taking it immediately and contact your doctor right away.
