What is Dr. Doni eating “on the wagon?”

It is common to “fall off the wagon,” especially during holidays. The simplest way to avoid this is to plan and prepare ahead of time.

Here are two tips to help you stay on the wagon:

  1. Look for gluten-free, dairy-free substitutions.
For example, when I was at the grocery store yesterday I noticed gluten-free, dairy-free, Kosher macaroons, bon bons and more! Millions of gluten-free products exist – it is simply a matter of finding them. I find lots of options by searching online.
  2. Make your own.
Patients often tell me how they are making their own gluten-free foods. From carrot cake for Easter to gluten-free matzo, anything is possible! Start experimenting in the kitchen and I think you will surprise yourself with what is possible.
