How does Naturopathy differ from traditional medicine or other forms of alternative medicine?
Naturopathic doctors (NDs) seek to determine the root cause of disease by assessing the body as a whole. The philosophy behind naturopathic medicine is that by understanding what the body needs, we can support healing using natural approaches.
Naturopathic approaches include utilizing diet choices, lifestyle changes, vitamins and nutrients, herbal therapies, hydrotherapy, homeopathy, and natural glandular hormone support products.
Dr. Doni takes this a step further by looking at how your body responds to stress and at your genetic tendencies to understand what your body needs to return to optimal wellness.
Though NDs are trained as primary care providers (to order labs and perform physical exams), the state you are in when you meet with a ND determines whether those services may be performed by the naturopathic doctor.

What is Dr. Doni’s approach to healthcare?
Dr. Doni signature approach to healing is based on the latest scientific and naturopathic methods, and nearly 20 years of clinical experience.
The bases of Dr. Doni’s approach is that we are all exposed to stress—whether from emotional demands, financial constraints, trauma, toxins, travel, and more—by understanding how your body has responded to stress will guide us to how to help it recover.
Symptoms are indicators that stress has affected your health. By uncovering how stressors have impacted your body—for example, nutrient deficiencies, food sensitivities, hormone and/or neurotransmitter imbalances—and addressing them with natural approaches, we can support your body back to wellness.
She designs individual health plans using her seven essential pillars of health: digestion, sleep, energy, mood and focus, hormones, diet, and immunity.
Dr. Doni outlines her approach in detail in her first book: The Stress Remedy (a highly recommended read), and you can learn more about it here.

What’s the difference between the Standard and Comprehensive Initial Consultations?

The Standard Health Breakthrough Consultation is best for patients with simple cases seeking a little input from Dr. Doni.

What can I expect during my first appointment?
During the initial consultation we will discuss your health concerns and Dr. Doni will describe how they can be addressed using her signature approach — which she believes will make the difference in your success with naturopathic care.
Dr. Doni is passionate about partnering with patients who are ready and willing to improve their health through naturopathic medicine. This may include dietary changes, supplements (nutrients and/or vitamins), and/or other lifestyle changes. If you’re committed to making changes and honoring the healing process, she will be there to guide you every step of the way.
A Health Transformation Plan, which may include a program package, will be developed over subsequent appointments. Your plan may include stress reduction techniques, dietary changes, lifestyle recommendations, herbal therapies, nutritional supplements, hydrotherapy, homeopathic remedies, and other natural therapies.
How many follow-up appointments should I expect?
The number of follow-up appointments in your program is based on your individual health needs and progress.
