Ways to rebalance your stress response

Research shows that the following activities can decrease levels of the stress hormone cortisol, raise endorphins (feel good hormones), increase oxytocin (bonding hormone), relax muscles and improve mood.

  • Bring your dog to work or spend time with your pet
  • Laugh! Enjoy a movie, show or person that makes you laugh
  • Gardening, caring for plants and enjoying nature
  • Read a book or article
  • Drink tea
  • Listen to music
  • Go for a walk (walking in the mall is a warm option in the winter)
  • Call and talk with your mom or a friend
  • Eat dark chocolate (1.4 ounces per day)

That’s right, chocolate!

So I found some gluten-free, dairy-free and refined sugar-free chocolate for you. Click here for info on chocolates.

Finding opportunities each day to support your body by taking part in one or more of the activities listed above can rebalance your stress response, even in as few as 15 minutes a day. To read more about how stress affects your health, click here.

By doing this, you’ll be resetting the messengers inside your body that determine your health.

Empowering wellness, naturally.
