(New York, NY) – November 8, 2011 hosted by TheRUN.org has announced that Dr. Doni Wilson, N.D., a naturopathic doctor from Manhattan and president of the New York Association of Naturopathic Physicians (NYANP), has been asked to welcome the runners and give a proclomation on November 12th at 7 pm at Traffic in Midtown.
TheRUN was founded to raise awareness for naturopathic medicine across the country. The runners, including a naturopathic doctor, started in California in July 2011 and will have covered over 3000 miles as they enter New York this weekend.
The agenda for the weekend includes a press conference on Friday at Sports Authority, a visit to Whole Foods in Tribeca on Saturday at 2 pm, the dinner at Traffic in Midtown at 7 pm Saturday and a Brunch of Champions on Sunday at 10 am at Dave & Busters Times Square.
Dr. Wilson, who holds a doctorate in naturopathic medicine from Bastyr University, as well as two bachelor’s degrees in pre-medicine and nutritional science, will welcome the runners and read a proclamation from the NYANP.
“It is exciting to welcome TheRUN to New York and to be a part of raising awareness for the naturopathic profession,” Wilson stated.

ABOUT DR. DONI WILSON
Dr. Doni Wilson has a doctorate in naturopathic medicine from Bastyr Univeristy. For the past twelve years, she has focused her research on women’s health issues, specifically menopause and natural hormones, as well as neurotransmitter balancing, adrenal maladaptive syndrome and food intolerances. She is the founder of The Hamptons Cleanse and Natural Optimal, and is the author of the upcoming book, The Natural Optimal Body. She is a professional midwife and doula and has completed research on fear and stress associated with childbirth in women with a history of abuse. She is currently the President of the New York Association of Naturopathic Doctors and is licensed to practice in Connecticut and Washington State.
