Dr. Doni on the AMSA Future Physicians Panel, October 15th

(BALTIMORE, MD) – October 12, 2011  The Baltimore Empowering Future Physicians Conference designed by the American Medical Student Association (AMSA) has announced that Dr. Doni Wilson, N.D., a naturopathic doctor from Stamford, Connecticut, has been selected to speak on a panel at the annual conference being held at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

Now in its 61st year, the AMSA convention is expecting hundreds of future physicians for the three-day event, October 14-16 in Baltimore, Maryland. Dozens of sessions are planned in areas including career and professional development, advocacy, public health, international health and premedical.

Dr. Wilson, who holds a doctorate in naturopathic medicine as well as two bachelor’s degrees in pre-medicine and nutritional science, will speak on a panel which will discuss the struggles doctors face, experiences in medical school, and how to treat patients with various conditions. That panel will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

“I am so proud to be part of a panel that is helping educate physicians who are shaping the future of medicine,” Wilson stated.

The American Medical Student Association is the oldest and largest independent association of physicians-in-training in the United States. Founded in 1950, AMSA continues its commitment to improving medical training and the nation’s health. AMSA members are medical students, premedical students, interns, residents, and practicing physicians.

“AMSA’s convention provides future physicians the opportunity to broaden their learning beyond the classroom and to take steps toward becoming socially responsible physicians and leaders in medical education and health care,” says John Brockman, AMSA national president.
